The Middle Ages revive in the village Saint-Nicolas de la Grave, where you can visit both a twelfth century church and the castle of Richard Lionheart. Further you will find the museum of Lamothe-Cadillac, founder of the city of Detroit in the U.S.A. and name giver to the well known car brand. At less than two kilometers there is the “Plan d’eau” offering you the opportunity to walk, swim, horse ride, go sailing or canoe. Within a ten-minutes-drive you will arrive in Moissac, which accommodates a Roman monastery.
The Tarn-et-garonne, a holiday place par excellence, welcomes you with its heritage of Romanesque art, its varied flavours, its nature sports and its museums. You can discover castles, churches, old houses and abbeys, in every nook and corner. Our Home is set at 1km of the village of St. Nicolas de la Grave in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France. The village lies in the valley close to the Garonne river. There are plenty of facilities for water sports and fishing. | |

Secluded, but not isolated, Blue Room is set in 6 acres of rolling meadow and woodland. From Blue Room you can overlook the pool and one of the beautiful valleys which lie near the river Tarn. This is the perfect place in which to recline with a book, set up your easel or enjoy the company of a few like-minded people. Breakfast, including a selection of croissants, baguettes, jams, yogurts, cereals and fruits in served in the dinning-room or in high season on the terrace. For those that simply do not want to leave during the day - we can also provide a snack lunch and refreshments. Tea and coffee making facilities are available, all day, in the dinning-room along with cold drinks. Blue Room is situated close to the tiny village of St Nicolas de la Grave, which has a small shop, baker's shop and tennis court. The village is situated in one of many beautiful valleys in this area - with an abundance of oak woods and fruit and flower growing. The area is famous for its production of melons, plums, nectarines, grapes, sunflowers and cherries. The medieval villages of Lauzerte (often referred to as the Toledo of Quercy) and Montaigu de Quercy (site of 12th century castle and with lovely bathing lake/water sports) are both about 20km away and offer delightful places to visit along with a range of local services and restaurants/bars and local markets. Montcuq with its famous 12th century tower, exquisite bathing lake and colourful Sunday market is about 25km away, whilst Cahor and the surrounding vineyards make a lovely day trip. Moissac, a bustling town with lively weekend markets and famous Abbey and Cloisters are about 10 minutes drive away. Other places worth a visit include Penne and Tournon D'Agenais, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Puy-L'Eveque, the caves at Pech Merle and St. Cirq Lapopie. |
